Taman means garden, Ayun/ Ahyun means desire or happiness. Taman Ayun Temple means the temple which is built to get the happiness, it is located in Mengwi village Mengwi, Menwi badung and it is about 18 km from Denpasar. Taman Ayun temple was built on year 1634 by first king of Mungu Puri Kingdom, where Mangu which means Merenung (Meditation) and now it is call Mengwi. Based on what can find in the front of temple there are stone relics of megalithic era ( Pelinggih Batu Aya and Bedugul Krama Carik), it mentions that in this place have been used for Ritual activity which is related w500ith soil fertility and agriculture in year
