Besakih Temple

Besakih it comes from word Basuki which means Prosperous. Besakih temple is a temples complex which is located in Besakih village, Rendang, Karangasem. It is built in 8 century on side of Agung Volcano. Agung volcano is the highest volcano (3142 meters from above sea level) in Bali, and also it is believed as the holiest area in Bali. Generally Besakih  temples complex is consist from 18 temples, with the main temple (Penataran Agung) is located in the middle and surround by 17 temple.
